EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW......
.......ABOUT YOUTH!!!
The New Hope "all high" (middle and high) school group is a multifaceted ministry that aims to be a resource for parents as they raise a family of faith. It is open to boys and girls between grades 5 and 12. There are four ongoing events that make up the core of our ministry. They are the Weekly Gathering, Home Invasions, Monthly Youth Outings, and OTS and in the summer, pool parties!Weekly Gathering ~ On Sunday nights during New Hope's regular Sunday service, “all high” students (middle and high schoolers) are invited to attend a small group study. There is typically a game or an ice-breaker, and an age appropriate, biblically based lesson. Some of our lesson series have been The Beatitudes, Life of Christ, and Basics of Faith (A study on the basics of Christianity).
Home Invasions ~ Once a month, we descend in mass on the home of one of our own. There we will find food and sustenance to fortify during any number of activities planned by the host family. Prepare yourselves for a good time. Check the "Event Calendar" see left side bar for the house we're headed. During the summer Pool Parties replace Home Invasions.
Summer Pool Parties ~ These will run every other week from June through August. The first party will be at the McDowell's on June 8th.
Monthly Youth Outing ~ One Saturday each month we will have either a service-oriented activity or a fun event. Even months are slated for service and the odd months are for a recreational activity such as Malibu Gran Prix or Sky High.
OTS ~ OTS is an acronym that stands for Opportunity To Serve. It is an opportunity for our “all high” schoolers to take an active role in the worship service. Opportunities have included operating the sound board, or PowerPoint; preparing the sanctuary for service, ushering, or passing out bulletins, as well as communion prep, and a host of other unique serving tasks. These typically take place on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
