FALL SERIES ~ RUTHLESS TRUST...

CONTROL THE ANTITHESIS TO TRUST.    “We can no more catch a hurricane in a shrimp net or Niagara Falls in a coffee cup than we can grasp the infinity of God’s reality.” (Brennan Manning)
How do we trust an infinite God without trying to control Him or our lives? When we control our lives, it is like pointing a camera on what deserves to be the "center" of our attention. The other elements of the picture or God's plan for us becomes peripheral and out of focus—not viewed clearly.  In this way, it is possible to miss the incredible grandeur of God also known as "awe".  No awe equals bland faith. Come Sunday, Nov. 8th for our 5th week in the Ruthless Trust series as we learn to trust God and reclaim awe and reverence as the basis for an exciting faith.

FALL FELLOWHIP ~ RUTHLESS TRUST

Oct. 11- Nov. 15th series ~ This summer we experimented with "Dinners for Eight" as a way to get people more familiar with one another.  Reports have been pretty darn good.  For instance, I learned Peter Homer who plays bass guitar for New Hope has an English accent.  Can you believe that I had never, ever had occasion to converse with the man before?  He is delightful!

Taking the experiment a step further this fall, Edie Dwan has organized an incredible opportunity for spiritual growth and community through various scriptures related to Ruthless Trust.  Ben will be speaking a 6 part series, using material from Ruthless Trust. This book is by Brennan Manning and is incredible foundational ideas promoting intimacy with God and each other. The titles of the coming talks are:  The way of Trust, Gratitude and Trust, Obstacles to Trust, Letting God out of the box, Control: The antithesis of Trust, and finally, Humble Trust: Removing the Imposter.  To purchase the book click Here to go to Amazon.  SIGN UP in the back over the coming weeks for a group.  We have many convenient times!
